The Three Kings Day is kind of like a Christmas only for Puerto Ricans. Kids pick grass and put it in a box at the foot of their beds. Kids think the Camels come and eat the grass and then leave them a present in that box, kind of like Santa. Families eat a nice fancy dinner that night then sing a song after dinner. There is a lot of pictures taken on Three Kings Day.
In Puerto Rico they also celebrate New Year's, but in a different way. At midnight everyone eats 12 grapes. Eating 12 grapes is supposed to bring lots of prosperity to those who do it. On New Year's people also throw buckets of water onto the street. This is supposed to get rid of the bad things that happened the past year, and prepare it for the arrival of the good things to come that present year. One last ritual that they do in Puerto Rico that we don't do here in Michigan is throw out sugar. Throwing sugar out around your house is supposed to attract good look and ward off the bad luck. Other than that they celebrate New Year's the same way we do.
